Most people dream of having a career that matches both their personality and interests. For Evan Shiebler, his dream career couldn’t match him any better. Spontaneous, quick witted and hardworking are words friends described him as. As an aspiring broadcast journalist, Shiebler hopes to travel the world while catching great stories along the way.
Growing up in West Milford, New Jersey Shiebler always had a passion for writing. After high school, he decided to continue his learning at William Paterson University. “It was affordable, close to home, and known to have a good communications department” said Shiebler. Currently a sophomore majoring in Broadcast Journalism and Political science, Shiebler is on the right path for his goals. He is also a writer for his school's newspaper The Beacon. Although he hopes to gain experience from this, he said it's also really fun too!
“I like to write more news, current events, more political journalism” said Shiebler. He is mainly inspired by broadcast journalist Jordan Oliver. One of his goals is to write a hit story on political corruption and make a name for himself for it. He really wants to explore different parts of the world, one of those places being Ireland.
“Evan is a great friend to have around, he is up;ifting and spiritual, honest and compassionate, and very witty at the right moments” quotes a friend of Shiebler. Like many of us Shiebler is trying to get through life during this pandemic. One thing for sure is, Shiebler knows who he is and what he wants out of life. One day for sure we'll be reading one of his big stories in the papers.
